Vacuum Forming
Conventional vacuum forming is accomplished by evenly heating a sheet of plastic material, placing it over a male or female mold, and creating a vacuum between the mold and the plastic. The sheet takes the shape of the mold as it cools, and a newly formed part is created. Vacuum forming is often used when inside dimensions are critical.
Even though vacuum forming has been around for years, the techniques in producing high quality parts have changed: larger, deeper, and more detailed parts than ever before can be produced with our advanced machines.
For more information on the vacuum forming process, download our forming guide.
